I Miss You (spoken word)

I miss you in the morning
With sleep still in my eyes
Your breathing so soft
As I fantasize

The breakfast table is empty
Without you, it’s not the same
There isn’t a day that goes by
I don’t call your name

My days feel so empty
With you so far away
Those little things I want to tell you
And ask “how was your day?”

But I think I miss you most of all
When day is done and the sun loses light
I miss laying in your arms,
Holding your hand and kissing you goodnight
