Daddy’s Little Girl

He taught me to ride a bike
Without training wheels.
Sundays he gave me driving lessons
In a school parking lot.

He fixed my broken dolls
And filled my car with gas.
He gave me his shoulder to cry on
When a boy broke my heart.

Now that he has grown old,
I’m the one taking care of him.
Just yesterday he was the helper,
Today I’m the strong one.

He will always be my friend,
My advisor, my hero.
He’s my mentor and my protector.
I look up to him like no other.

He has aged and grown tired
And I’m all grown up now.
But no matter what life throws us,
I will always be Daddy’s little girl
